Have you wanted to try sourdough but are worried about failing? Or does it seem too time-consuming? I recently discovered how enjoyable it can be. I was also a bit intimidated and felt like I didn't need another hobby. However, thanks to a little sourdough class from my sister-in-law, I've found out how fun it is. Yes, it can be time-consuming if you choose, but it can also be quite simple. I'll share the straightforward method that has worked for me. Plus, all our sourdough essentials are on sale this weekend. Come pick up what you need and give it a try! We also have sourdough starters available!

There is nothing tastier than warm sourdough with butter...
The link provided contains a Word document featuring my Simple Sourdough Recipe. FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm not a professional. This is simply what has worked for me. I understand there's a lot of debate online regarding wet/dry ratios, cold proofing durations, the number of times to stretch and fold, and whether or not to use a KitchenAid for mixing the dough. However, I'll reiterate... This recipe is very straightforward and, if followed precisely, will succeed every time. Happy Baking!

How to Plant your Free Dahlia
In case you missed last weeks post, I am posting this again...
So you received a free dahlia tuber last weekend at our event and now you need to know how to plant it? No worries, it is very simple!
How to Plant Dahlia Tubers:
1) Pick a spot that gets plenty of water and sunshine
2) Dig a hole approximately 4-6 inches deep
3) Insert tuber with the eye or sprout facing up
4) Cover with soil
5) Sprout should emerge from soil within a 2-3 weeks
A few things to note about dahlias. Consider them an annual in our climate unless you dig up the tuber in the fall and bring it in. Dahlias will start to bloom in July and bloom continuously until the first frost. Feel free to cut blooms and bring them in for glorious bouquets. Your plant may require staking. When the flowers start to bloom, they can weigh the plant down. It is a good idea to put a tomato cage or something similar around your plant while it is small so it will grow into it and it will provide support.

The Summer Menu has arrived! I had the opportunity to taste test all the drinks, and each one is fantastic! Which one will you choose to try?
